Extensive security arrangements have been implemented under the guidance of the Mumbai Police Commissioner for the Mumbai Municipal Corporation elections. On the day of voting, 10 additional police commissioners, 33 deputy police commissioners (DCP), and 84 assistant police commissioners (ACP) will be deployed in Mumbai. Along with this, more than 3,000 police officers and over 25,000 police personnel and home guards will be on the streets. Special arrangements have been made at sensitive polling stations, and constant surveillance will be maintained through drones and CCTV.
Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation
In the backdrop of the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation elections, the police have made strong preparations to maintain peace and law and order. A route march was conducted with a large force in sensitive areas of the city. More than 100 personnel, 25 officers, SRPF, and riot control teams participated in this route march. Security measures will be further tightened on the day of voting.
Nagpur Municipal Corporation
The administration is fully prepared for the voting to be held in Nagpur on January 15. Out of the 3,004 polling stations in the city, 321 centers have been declared sensitive. CCTV cameras, additional police security, and special teams will be deployed at these centers. For this election, 16,000 officers and employees and 5,000 police personnel have been deployed.
Amravati Municipal Corporation
For the Amravati Municipal Corporation elections, EVM machines have been dispatched to polling stations under tight police security. More than 2,000 police and home guards will be deployed in the city, with special attention given to sensitive areas.
Parbhani Municipal Corporation
To ensure the election in Parbhani city is conducted in a fear-free environment, the police have deployed a large security force. Route marches have been conducted in various areas, and the Nanlpeth police are monitoring the area through drones. For this election, 4 Deputy Superintendents of Police, 11 Police Inspectors, 70 Police Officers, Home Guard personnel, and a squad of the State Reserve Force have been deployed. CCTV vans and drone patrolling are also underway.
Nashik Municipal Corporation
For the Nashik Municipal Corporation election, more than 5,000 police officers, personnel, special teams, and home guards have been deployed. The city will be equipped with 10 election decision officers, 4 Deputy Commissioners of Police, 6 Assistant Commissioners of Police, and 14 Senior Police Inspectors along with additional forces.
Nanded Municipal Corporation
The administration's preparations for the Nanded Municipal Corporation elections are complete. Distribution of EVM machines and voting materials to polling station staff has been done from Polytechnic College. To ensure the election is conducted peacefully, 1,481 additional police have been called from outside the district, and more than 3,000 police personnel, including SRPF units, are deployed in the city.
Malegaon Municipal Corporation
In the backdrop of the Malegaon Municipal Corporation elections, 110 police officers and more than 2,000 personnel will be deployed. Additionally, 2 units of the State Reserve Police Force and 2 riot control teams have also been kept ready. For the elections of 29 municipal corporations in the state, the administration and police machinery have entered the field with full preparation, and it is expressed with confidence that the voting process will proceed peacefully and smoothly.
