Congress MLA and former Speaker Nana Patole was suspended from the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly for one day following an uproar over his controversial remarks and aggressive behavior in the House. The suspension took place on the second day of the state’s monsoon session.

Patole, known for his fiery speeches, took a strong stance on the farmers’ issues and approached the Speaker’s table while making forceful demands. His conduct was deemed unparliamentary, and he was accused of using offensive language during the heated discussion.

The assembly witnessed chaos as the opposition raised demands for action against BJP MLA Babanrao Lonikar and Agriculture Minister Manikrao Kokate, holding them accountable for the plight of farmers. In the midst of this, Patole’s aggressive speech near the Speaker’s podium further escalated tensions.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis strongly objected to Patole’s remarks and demanded an apology for allegedly insulting the Chair. However, with disruptions continuing and order deteriorating, Speaker Rahul Narwekar intervened and suspended Nana Patole for the remainder of the day.

The situation intensified when Patole reportedly said, "Modi may be your father, but not the father of the farmers," a comment that sparked outrage among the treasury benches and led to temporary adjournment of the House. The second day of the monsoon session remained tense, with high drama and a clear divide between the ruling and opposition benches. The incident has added fuel to the ongoing political friction in the state.
