Narendra Modi X post On Nepal Violence : The ongoing protests in Nepal over the past few days have taken a violent turn. This movement, which began against the ban imposed on social media, has rapidly expanded in recent days. Due to government corruption and restrictions on freedom of expression, the aggressive protests by the youth have resulted in the destruction of the parliament, the supreme court, and government residences through arson. In this context, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and the President have resigned from their positions.
India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reacted to this grave situation. On his official X account, Modi stated, “The violence in Nepal is heartbreaking, and it is extremely sad that many young lives have been lost. Establishing stability, peace, and prosperity in Nepal is important for India. All citizens should choose the path of peace and adhere to the law.”
Meanwhile, the protesters attempted to attack not only government offices but also the family of the former Prime Minister. Several important buildings have been set on fire, and there is a tense atmosphere in the capital, Kathmandu. The widespread violence has posed a significant challenge to the security forces. Discussions have now begun regarding the formation of a new government in Nepal. A large group of protesters is demanding that Kathmandu Mayor Balendra Shah be given the role of Prime Minister.
