Modi Mahotsav 2025: On the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 75th birthday on September 17, the Maharashtra State Transport Corporation (ST) has announced a major initiative. On this occasion, free libraries will be made available to the public at 75 major bus stations in the state, as informed by Transport Minister and ST Corporation Chairman Pratap Sarnaik.
These libraries will house books by renowned Marathi authors, poets, and novelists, as well as reference books necessary for competitive exams. Citizens can register at the bus station to take these books home to read and return them. Additionally, local newspapers will be included daily.
Sarnaik stated that this initiative has been started from the concept of the current MP Shrikant Shinde and BJP leader Vinay Sahasrabuddhe. The main objective of this initiative is to promote the rich heritage of the Marathi language and to encourage the reading culture.
According to the suggestion of Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, people-oriented initiatives are being implemented across the state on the occasion of Prime Minister Modi's birthday. Among them, the library in the form of 'Vachan Katta' is an important part, and it is an attempt to give the invaluable gift of knowledge to the general public, as clarified by Sarnaik.
