Mumbai: The Central Railway administration has informed that a special traffic and night block will be taken for the work of erecting girders of the pedestrian flyover at Kanjurmarg railway station on the Central Railway.

Changes in the schedule of some local trains

This block will be taken between Vikhroli and Mulund, resulting in changes in the schedule of some local trains, while some trains have also been canceled. The work of the pedestrian flyover is underway at Kanjurmarg station to enhance passenger safety and facilities. Under this work, four girders of 6 meters width will be installed with the help of a road crane. To safely complete this work, the Central Railway has decided to take a special block from 1:05 AM to 4:35 AM.

Due to this block, the CSMT-Thane local departing at 12:24 AM has been canceled. Also, the Thane-CSMT local departing at 4:04 AM will be canceled. Therefore, passengers traveling at this time may face inconvenience. Additionally, the CSMT-Karjat local departing at 12:12 AM will be diverted on the down fast track between Matunga and Mulund. As there is no separate platform available at the concerned stations on the fast track, this local will not stop at Vidyavihar, Kanjurmarg, and Nahur stations. Therefore, passengers intending to alight at these stations are requested to take alternative locals or alight at other stations to continue their journey.

The Central Railway administration has requested passengers to verify the schedule before traveling during the block period and make alternative arrangements if necessary. Information about changes has been made available through social media as well as the official website. Meanwhile, once the pedestrian flyover being constructed at Kanjurmarg is completed, it will greatly benefit passengers. Considering the increasing number of passengers at the station, this bridge is expected to be important and is considered useful for avoiding future congestion and ensuring safety. Overall, although these ongoing development works for passenger convenience may cause temporary inconvenience, this decision will be beneficial in the long term. However, during the block period, passengers need to travel with caution and plan their journey.
