The opposition is accusing the ruling party of using pressure tactics to conduct the election unopposed.

On the other hand, there has been an uproar as candidates from Congress, Janata Dal, and AAP in three wards of Colaba have alleged that they were pressured not to accept nominations. 45 BJP candidates unopposed

Two corporators from the NCP Ajit Pawar faction and one candidate from the Islam Party in Malegaon have also won unopposed.
