Manoj Jarange Patil, who initiated the agitation for Maratha reservation, has once again become active and made sensational allegations in his speech at Pandharpur. “They are out to kill me, contracts for my murder are being given,” he claimed seriously. However, he firmly stated, “The people are with me, as long as they are, I fear no one.”
Speaking at an event organized in Pandharpur, Jarange Patil said, “Those who support the government claim that no one is with me now. But come to any village and see, students from the community are pursuing higher education, securing good government jobs. I fought for them, so the community will stand by me.” His statement generated enthusiasm among the attendees.
Criticizing his opponents, he said, “I am being accused because I did not let anyone close to me become big. I do not want to grow at the expense of society. I want to uplift the children of the poor. I am not fighting to make those who do business in the name of society big.” He also clarified that those who want to stay close for personal gain should stay away from him.
Speaking on the issue of Maratha reservation, Jarange Patil said, “58 lakh records have been provided in two years. An order from the Satara institution will be issued; otherwise, we will take action.” Accusing his opponents of dividing the community, he criticized, “Close people break and make them say anything.” He also appealed, “Do not defame your caste. In the end, it is the caste that comes to help.”
While giving a message to the youth, he advised them to stay away from addictions. “Take advantage of the reservation, don't be ashamed to take it,” he urged the audience to stand up for their rights. Indications from his speech suggest that Jarange Patil is preparing to re-enter the field. Therefore, it is speculated that the agitation on the Maratha reservation issue may intensify again in the coming period. His allegations have also sparked discussions in political circles.
