The historic Rajkot Fort in Malvan, Sindhudurg district, has been reopened to tourists after a two-month break. Tourists had to wait until now to see this fort, which features a grand statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
The fort had been closed since June 22. The pathway around the statue of Shivaji Maharaj had collapsed, necessitating urgent repairs. During this period, the Public Works Department carried out repairs to the pathway and other maintenance work.
Meanwhile, since the Sindhudurg Fort was closed during the monsoon, Rajkot Fort became the only attraction for tourists along with the Malvankars. However, due to repairs, this place was also closed, leaving tourists disappointed. Now that the fort has reopened, tourists have started visiting in large numbers. The fort area appears bustling again, which is good news for both local businesses and tourists.
