The state government has launched the "Beloved Sister" scheme for women from poor families. Under this scheme, families whose annual income is less than two and a half lakh rupees receive fifteen hundred rupees every month. This scheme had greatly benefited the Mahayuti in the assembly elections.
Now, an important piece of information has come to light regarding the eligibility of the scheme. When the scheme was launched a few months ago, certain conditions were set. But now it has emerged that some ineligible women are also availing the benefits of the scheme. As a result, the government has made the KYC process mandatory for this scheme.
It was reported in the media that 5.2 million women were declared ineligible during the KYC verification. However, Minister Aditi Tatkare has refuted these reports. She said, "These reports are baseless. The e-KYC process is underway to ensure transparency in the scheme, and it will take time to complete." Aditi Tatkare's clarification has provided relief to the beneficiary women, and there is now a sense of assurance that there is no irregularity in the scheme.
