Most of the work on this project has been completed, and once this route is operational, the current one and a half hour journey will be significantly reduced. A four-lane tunnel has been constructed between Airoli and Katai Naka, which will facilitate smoother traffic between Navi Mumbai, Thane, and Kalyan-Dombivli.
Once this elevated route is operational, the load of heavy vehicles will be reduced, and there will be direct, fast connectivity between Mumbai and Kalyan. This will save fuel, save time, and reduce the inconvenience for passengers. This project, which started in 2018, passes under Desai Creek and Parsik Hill. It is believed that this approximately 7-kilometer-long route will give a new direction to the traffic system in the Mumbai metropolitan area.
