While international discussions are ongoing to stop the war between Russia and Ukraine, Russia has once again launched a large and fierce attack on Ukraine. On Tuesday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky claimed that Russian forces targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure with more than 70 missiles and about 450 drones. These attacks have caused significant damage in Ukraine, completely disrupting the lives of ordinary citizens.

President Zelensky posted on the social media platform 'X' to inform about these attacks. He stated that due to Russian attacks, the heating supply to more than 1,000 residential buildings in the capital Kyiv has been disrupted. Currently, temperatures have dropped to minus 20 degrees Celsius in many areas, including Kyiv, and citizens are facing severe cold. Zelensky accused Russia of deliberately attacking energy centers, taking advantage of the harsh cold conditions.

In these attacks, major areas such as Sumy, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Dnipro, Odesa, and Vinnytsia were targeted. Many residential buildings, power centers, and public facilities have been destroyed. It has been reported that at least 9 civilians have been injured in these attacks. The Ukrainian administration has stated that repair work in the affected areas is underway at a war footing in the war-like situation.

The most shocking aspect of this attack is the damage to the historic 'Motherland' monument related to World War II. This monument is considered a symbol of victory and sacrifice in World War II. Ukraine's cultural ministers have strongly condemned this incident, stating that this attack on historical and cultural heritage is deplorable. They noted that the damage to such monuments in the context of war is a serious matter.

Meanwhile, as global leaders and international organizations are striving to stop the Russia-Ukraine war, the continuation of such attacks is making the situation increasingly serious. Due to the increasing cold and disrupted energy supply, a major humanitarian crisis is likely to arise for the citizens of Ukraine. It is being expressed that in the coming times, the effects of this war may not remain limited to Ukraine but could be felt on a global level.
