Sanjay Ghadi : Raj Thackeray's old associate Sanjay Ghadi is Mumbai's Deputy Mayor

After the establishment of power in the Mumbai Municipal Corporation, the formal announcement of the selection of the Mayor and Deputy Mayor was made today. In the meeting of the newly elected councilors of the grand alliance, BJP's Ritu Tawde was announced as the Mayor, while Sanjay Ghadi of Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde group) was announced as the Deputy Mayor. BJP and Shiv Sena contested the municipal elections in alliance. The grand alliance won a total of 118 seats, with BJP having 89 and Shiv Sena having 29 councilors.

In the meeting, Shiv Sena leader Rahul Shewale and BJP's Mumbai president Amit Satam officially announced the names of the new office bearers. The term of the deputy mayor will be one and a quarter years, this information was also given at this time. Ritu Tawde, elected from ward number 132, has been appointed as the new mayor of Mumbai. Meanwhile, the responsibility of the deputy mayor has been entrusted to Sanjay Ghadi, the councilor of ward number 5 in Dahisar.

Sanjay Ghadi's political journey has been particularly noteworthy. He was once considered a close associate and friend of MNS President Raj Thackeray. His political career began with the Indian Student Sena. In 2007, when Raj Thackeray founded the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, Ghadi was with him and even contested elections from MNS. Later, he joined Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena and was elected as a corporator.

Last year in April, Sanjay Ghadi and his wife, former corporator Sanjana Ghadi, left the Uddhav Thackeray faction and joined Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena. Recently, they won again from Ward No. 5, and now the responsibility of the deputy mayor position has come to him.

Sanjay Shankar Ghadi (age 57) was born in Mumbai. His primary education was completed up to seventh grade at the Mumbai Municipal Corporation School. After completing his education up to tenth grade at Chhabildas High School in Dadar, he completed his degree in commerce from Siddharth College in Fort. In 1988-89, he worked as the divisional head of the Indian Student Army. Later, in 1990-91, he also took on the responsibility as the president and senate member of the Mumbai University Student Council. He has held various positions such as the state general secretary of MNS, deputy leader of Shiv Sena, and currently the Raigad district liaison chief. Due to this new power equation in the Mumbai Municipal Corporation, everyone is now focused on what changes will occur in the city's administration.

Due to this new power equation in the Mumbai Municipal Corporation, everyone is now focused on what changes will occur in the city's administration, what direction development projects will take, and what role the opposition will play. It will become clear in the coming times whether Mumbai's governance will take a new turn under the leadership of the grand alliance.
