The preparations for the municipal and upcoming municipal corporation elections in the state have gained momentum, and the political atmosphere in Pimpri Chinchwad has heated up. Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) MP Srirang Barne has announced to contest on its own for 128 seats in 32 wards of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation.

Barne said, “As a constituent party of the grand alliance, discussions with Ajit Pawar's NCP are possible. But we will not go with any party from the Maha Vikas Aghadi. Especially, we will not ally with Sharad Pawar's NCP.” He clearly indicated that if there is no coordination in the grand alliance, Shiv Sena is fully prepared to go solo.

Meanwhile, there is intense discussion about both NCP factions coming together in Pimpri Chinchwad. It is said that Supriya Sule has sent a proposal for an alliance to Ajit Pawar. However, the Maha Vikas Aghadi has made a clear decision in the Sharad Pawar faction's meeting that under no circumstances will they form an alliance with Ajit Pawar's NCP. The Thackeray faction and Congress have also confirmed this stance through Tushar Kamthe.

Due to this, everyone is focused on whether both NCP factions will come together in Pimpri Chinchwad or fight independently. The Shinde group's candidacy on its own and the internal discussions of the two NCP factions have ensured that the upcoming municipal elections in Pimpri Chinchwad will be competitive.
