After the voting for the district council and panchayat committee on Saturday, the counting of votes began at 10 am on Monday. As per the figures till 1 pm, BJP is leading in 172 seats, Shiv Sena (Shinde) in 102, while Ajit Pawar's Nationalist Congress Party has secured 95 seats. Thackeray's Shiv Sena is placed fifth with 39 seats. Congress is in fourth place. Naresh Mhaske criticized Thackeray's Shiv Sena, saying, “The condition of the Maha Vikas Aghadi is extremely pathetic. The situation of Thackeray's Shiv Sena has become so bad that it cannot be compared to anything.”
