After the voting process for the elections of 29 municipal corporations in the state was conducted peacefully and enthusiastically, Nationalist Congress Party's national president and state's Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar thanked the voters as well as all the officials and employees involved in the election process. He expressed gratitude towards the citizens who voted in large numbers, exercising their democratic right. Ajit Pawar said, “Citizen participation is extremely important to strengthen democracy. Voting is the backbone of democracy, and the voters in the state have fulfilled their responsibility by voting spontaneously. I sincerely thank all these voters.” He also noted that the awareness shown by the voters is a positive sign for democracy.
In many parts of the state, voters were seen queuing at polling stations since morning. The participation of young people, women, senior citizens, and first-time voters was remarkable. Against this backdrop, Ajit Pawar praised the voters. Additionally, Ajit Pawar thanked the officers and staff who worked tirelessly to successfully conduct the election process. “The process could run smoothly due to the officers, staff, police machinery, and all components of the Election Commission serving at the polling stations,” he said. He made special mention of the contribution of the staff who conducted the election process transparently and peacefully, even while working long hours in the scorching heat.
During the election, the administration effectively managed security planning, necessary facilities for voters, and maintained law and order, Ajit Pawar clarified. This allowed voters to cast their votes in a fearless environment, he said. Now, with the backdrop of counting and results, while the curiosity of all parties has increased, it is evident from this election that the public's trust in the democratic process has strengthened. Ajit Pawar's response also indicates a determination to accept the public's mandate and work towards development and public welfare in the future.
