Two sections of the new Waqf Act have been immediately stayed by the Supreme Court in the hearing held today. The Central Government has also been given seven days to respond. The Supreme Court has said that the Central Government should maintain the situation as it is. Now the next hearing in this case will be held on May 5. Sushma Andhare, deputy leader of the Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray group, has reacted to this stay. She has welcomed this decision and has indirectly taken a dig at the BJP.

What did Sushma Andhare say?

"The Constitution is for the weaker sections. Based on this, the argument was made today and on behalf of the board. Special mention was made of Article 25 and Article 26, which states that every person shall have the right to exercise his religious freedom and to independently manage the same in the state. The Supreme Court has the right to examine a law within the constitutional framework based on the majority of the Parliament. The Supreme Court can work to block such laws, today the Supreme Court did the work of blocking it. In a sense, we can do something about the attitude of the BJP. The work of shaking this attitude, the work of balancing power between each other in the parliamentary democratic system of the country, has been established once again."
