Big news has emerged for passengers traveling by metro. There is a possibility of increased travel expenses for metro passengers. News has come out that there will be a fare hike in Mumbai Metro. The state government has now sent a proposal to the central government to form a fare determination committee for the Andheri West to Dahisar Metro 2 (A) and Gundavali to Dahisar Metro 7 routes.
Due to fewer passengers traveling than expected, the metro's revenue has decreased. As the expenses are exceeding the revenue, this proposal for a metro fare hike has been made. This proposal was sent to the state government in August, and it was approved by the state government last month.
Subsequently, the state government sent a proposal to form a committee to the central government's Salt Pan last month. After approval from the central government, a committee will be formed under the chairmanship of a retired judge of the High Court.
