While the India-Pakistan cricket match is taking place in Dubai today (September 14), the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) group's protest is underway at Shivaji Park in Mumbai. Under the slogan “My Vermilion, My Country,” a large number of activists have taken to the streets.
There is a demand to cancel the match with slogans being raised in the protest. Thackeray group's MP and chief spokesperson Sanjay Raut targeted the government. “Playing a match in Abu Dhabi is against public sentiment. Hundreds of soldiers were martyred, innocents were killed in terrorist attacks, and now cricket is played with the same Pakistan, this is a betrayal of the people,” criticized Raut.
