Uddhav Thackeray finally directly questioned Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Home Minister Amit Shah. “Will you tell the country that the war has stopped? And what answer will you give now to your own supporters who made vile accusations against Neeraj Chopra and female military officers?” By asking this, Thackeray raised questions about the BJP's stance. Before the India-Pakistan match in the Asia Cup cricket tournament, Uddhav Thackeray strongly criticized the central government. Speaking at a press conference organized in Mumbai, he accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP government of trading in patriotism. He said that playing a match against Pakistan is a mockery of patriotism.

Uddhav Thackeray targeted blind followers over the Neeraj Chopra incident. He stated, “When Neeraj Chopra invited Pakistani player Arshad Nadeem to play in India, he was called a traitor. But now those same people are silent. How is it appropriate to play a match with Pakistan, with whom we have fought wars?” he questioned.

Shiv Sena leaders also recalled the meeting between former Pakistani cricketer Javed Miandad and Shiv Sena chief Balasaheb Thackeray. They mentioned, “Balasaheb had clearly told Miandad at the time that cricket would not happen unless Pakistan changed its stance. But today, patriotism and Hindutva are being forgotten in the calculations of trade.”
