After returning home from a day's work, when you feel hungry, it's more enjoyable to make a new flavored dish at home rather than eating store-bought vada pav or samosa. This Dabeli with a Gujarati flavor is an excellent option for an evening snack. This spicy, sweet, and tangy dish can be easily made at home in a simple way. To get the taste of store-bought Dabeli, a special spice mix is needed, but it can be easily prepared with ingredients available at home. This dish is perfect for welcoming guests or for children, as everyone likes the spicy-sweet combination.

The ingredients required to make Dabeli are simple. Bread, spiced peanuts, finely chopped onion, fresh pomegranate seeds, sev, coriander leaves, butter, spicy garlic chutney, and tamarind chutney. Additionally, potatoes and Dabeli masala are needed. For preparation, first heat oil in a pan and add Dabeli masala to roast it well. Then mix mashed potatoes and salt to taste, so that the potatoes are well mashed in the masala. Add tamarind chutney to this mixture and mix lightly, then take it out in a bowl. Sprinkle finely chopped coriander and pomegranate seeds on top, which will make it look more delicious.

Now cut the bread into two pieces and apply garlic chutney on one side and tamarind chutney on the other. Fill it with the prepared masala and add chopped onions, pomegranate seeds, and spicy peanuts on top. Place this stuffed bread on a hot pan and apply butter on both sides until it becomes crispy. This dabeli, which is ready in just 15 minutes, tastes like store-bought even when made with homemade ingredients. Store-bought items are unhealthy due to processed ingredients, but homemade dabeli is made with fresh ingredients, making it good for health.

This dish, famous on roadside stalls in Gujarat, has now become popular in Maharashtra as well. Making it at home saves money and is fun with the family. It's great with tea and perfect for packing for kids. Try this recipe and enjoy the taste of Gujarat.
