(Nashik) Environmentalists are strongly opposing the proposed tree cutting in the Tapovan area of Nashik, where there is a plan to build a Sadhu Gram for the preparations of the Simhastha Kumbh Mela. For this Sadhu Gram, nearly 1800 trees in Tapovan will have to be cut down. Environmentalists are opposing this tree cutting. Against this backdrop, there is now opposition to the proposed tree cutting in Tapovan, while on the other hand, trees have been ordered from Rajahmundry in Hyderabad.
Against this backdrop, 15,000 trees that departed from Rajahmundry have now arrived in Nashik. Girish Mahajan personally selected 15,000 native trees in Rajahmundry. These trees will be planted in different parts of the city. Trees like Banyan, Peepal, Neem, and Jamun will be planted, with the initial plantation of 15,000 trees.
15,000 trees will be planted in Nashik on Monday, and an interim stay on tree cutting in Tapovan has been granted until January 15. The tree plantation program under Green Nashik will be conducted today by Minister Girish Mahajan.
Under the 'Green Nashik' campaign, 1,000 new trees will be planted today in the first phase, and a total of 15,000 trees will be planted in the city in phases. Today, under this campaign, 1,000 trees will be planted in the first phase at Makhmalabad and 4 other locations.
