Two more stations will be added to the proposed five-kilometer Swargate to Katraj route of Pune Metro. Previously, Market Yard, Padmavati, and Katraj stations had received the green light. However, there was a demand from citizens for stations at Bibwewadi and Balajinagar. Finally, in the meeting of the State Cabinet's Infrastructure Committee, these two stations were approved.
This announcement was made by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar through social media. He stated that in the meeting chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, several important decisions related to transport and urban development were made, and this decision is significant for the people of Pune.
Meanwhile, permission has also been granted to construct the third and fourth tracks on the Pune–Lonavala suburban railway line. It is expected that this will accelerate industrial, residential, and commercial development and also provide a solution to the increasing traffic congestion.
