The ongoing protest led by independent MLA Bacchu Kadu entered its fourth day today and has taken a tense and violent turn. Kadu, who launched an indefinite hunger strike at Gurukunj Mozari in Amravati, is demanding action on 17 key issues, including a complete farm loan waiver for farmers across Maharashtra.

Due to continuous fasting, Bacchu Kadu’s health has reportedly deteriorated. Medical professionals have advised immediate treatment and medication, but Kadu has refused medical intervention, reaffirming his resolve to continue the protest.

The protest witnessed a sharp escalation today as Prahar Janshakti Party activists, Kadu’s supporters, became increasingly aggressive outside the Amravati District Collectorate. Protesters set fire to banners of the ruling Mahayuti alliance, and reports indicate that incidents of arson and large-scale vandalism took place in the vicinity.

Security in the area has been heightened as the agitation intensifies. The aggressive actions of the demonstrators have raised concerns about law and order, and local authorities are monitoring the situation closely.

Amid rising tensions, activist Manoj Jarange Patil is expected to visit the protest site at Gurukunj Mozari today to express solidarity with Bacchu Kadu. The hunger strike has already received backing from several political and farmers’ organizations, including Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena, Sharad Pawar’s NCP, Bharatiya Kisan Union, and others.

With the protest growing in intensity and support, political observers are closely watching for a response from the state government, which so far has not issued any official statement regarding Kadu’s demands
