In the wake of the Maharashtra state government's decision to withdraw both Government Resolutions (GRs) mandating Hindi as a compulsory language, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray has announced a "Victory Rally" to celebrate what his party calls a triumph for regional identity. The rally is scheduled to take place on July 5 at the Worli Dome.
In anticipation of the event, provocative banners have been hoisted across parts of Mumbai, particularly in Worli. One such banner reads, “Thackeray Saheb, after the meeting, just give the order to straighten out some Marathi anti-Maharashtra people. We are waiting for the order.” The message appears to be a sharp commentary directed at those perceived as acting against the interests of Marathi-speaking communities and the state's cultural ethos.
Adding to the political intrigue, several banners across the city feature photographs of both Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray, sparking curiosity and speculation among political observers and the public alike. With the presence—or at least the symbolic representation—of the Thackeray brothers, the rally has taken on added significance.
