Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has secured a decisive victory in the Malegaon Cooperative Sugar Factory elections, winning from the Class B group with a significant margin. The election, which has drawn considerable political attention, saw Pawar receive 91 votes, defeating Bhalchandra Devkate of the Sahakar Bachao Panel, who secured only 10 votes.
Voting for the Malegaon Cooperative Sugar Factory took place on June 22, 2025, with prominent leaders, including Ajit Pawar and Supriya Sule, casting their votes. Notably, Sharad Pawar, despite his panel's participation, did not cast his vote.
The counting process began at 9 AM today at the Administrative Building of the Sugar Factory in Baramati, with tight security arrangements in place. A heavy police presence was deployed to ensure a smooth and peaceful counting process.
