A bomb threat has reportedly been received via email targeting two of Mumbai’s key locations — Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport and the iconic Taj Mahal Palace Hotel. The threat was sent to the official email address of the Mumbai Airport Police, prompting an immediate response from law enforcement agencies.

According to sources, the email contained explicit threats to blow up both the Taj Hotel and the airport using explosive devices. In response, security agencies were swiftly placed on high alert, and comprehensive security measures were initiated across both locations.

This latest threat follows a similar incident in which the Mumbai Airport Hotel was also targeted with bomb threats. Authorities are treating the current case with the utmost seriousness given the potential risks to public safety.

The Mumbai Police have taken immediate cognizance of the threat and launched an investigation. Preliminary reports indicate that the email was sent by an unidentified individual and mentions the names of Afzal Guru — the convicted terrorist executed for his role in the 2001 Indian Parliament attack — and Savukku Shankar, a controversial figure in Tamil Nadu.

Investigators are currently tracing the origin of the email and working to identify the sender. Meanwhile, bomb detection and disposal squads have conducted precautionary checks at both sites. As of now, no explosives have been found.
