As public outrage continues to mount over the death of Vaishnavi Hagwane, a new development has emerged, casting further scrutiny on the Hagwane brothers – Shashank Hagwane and Sushil Hagwane.
According to police reports, both brothers allegedly submitted fake residential documents to the Pune Police in order to illegally acquire arms licenses. The fraudulent activity has led to separate cases of cheating being registered at the Warje and Kothrud police stations late Thursday night.
A case has been registered against Sushil Hagwane at the Kothrud Police Station, while Shashank Hagwane has been booked at the Warje Police Station, both under charges related to providing false information to secure firearms licenses.
The revelations come amid the ongoing investigation into the death of Vaishnavi Hagwane, which has already triggered widespread anger and demands for justice across the state. Authorities have yet to comment on whether the fraudulent arms licenses are linked to the larger case.
