Amid growing speculation and political discourse surrounding the upcoming local body elections, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has hinted that the much-anticipated polls may be conducted as early as this month. Speaking at a public program in Sangli, Fadnavis indicated that the elections could take place in September or October.
“Now our second exam will come in September and October,” Fadnavis stated, referring to the electoral calendar. “At that time, we will have Zilla Parishad, Municipal Corporation, and Municipality elections.”
He further elaborated that the election process would likely conclude within a span of a month and a half. "The Zilla Parishad and Municipal Corporation elections may either be held simultaneously or with a brief gap in between. After that, the Municipality elections will be conducted approximately 15 days later," he added.
The Chief Minister emphasized the need for political parties and administrative bodies to begin preparations in earnest, signaling that the government is setting the stage for a full-fledged electoral season across various local governance institutions.
