An incident revealing the heart-wrenching dark side of society occurred near Dahisar railway station on the morning of February 10. An unknown person brutally assaulted a one-and-a-half-year-old girl from a poor family that makes a living by selling flowers and threw her into a garbage drain near the local fish market. After this incident, the family filed a missing complaint at the Dahisar MHB police station at 11 AM.
The police investigated the CCTV footage and found the seriously injured girl at 3 PM, immediately admitting her to a nearby hospital. Due to her critical condition, she was transferred to the BMC-run Nair Hospital at Mumbai Central. She has undergone surgery and is currently under treatment in the intensive care unit.
As soon as this unfortunate incident was brought to light by a social worker, Shiv Sena's national spokesperson Shaina NC informed Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Shinde immediately took note and instructed police officers to investigate seriously. He coordinated with the dean of Nair Hospital to ensure the girl received the best medical treatment and spoke to the police commissioner to prioritize her safety and the investigation.
“It is extremely unfortunate that some perverse-minded people in our society think they can get away with abusing the most vulnerable,” said Shaina NC. She said, “But this time we will all come together and fight. We thank Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde for intervening immediately to save the life of this innocent one-and-a-half-year-old girl. We demand that the concerned authorities expedite the investigation, the victim receives the best medical services, and the guilty be given the harshest punishment. We stand firmly with the victim's family.”
