Bhagwan Gad is a historical fort in the Warkari sect and is a place of devotion for devotees across the state. This pilgrimage site, located on a hill near Kharwandi village on the Beed-Ahmednagar border, is known for its scenic environment. It houses the temple of Vitthal and the Pandavas' priest Dhaumya Rishi, and the samadhis of Saint Janardanswami, Bhagwanbaba, and Bhimsingh Maharaj.
This fort, established by Bhagwanbaba, is considered a symbol of religious harmony and devotion. After the demise of Bhagwanbaba, Saint Bhimsingh Maharaj was seated on the throne, and currently, Saint Dr. Namdev Maharaj Shastri is seated on the throne.
Bhagwangad is a place of worship for sugarcane workers in Maharashtra, and it attracts a large number of devotees throughout the year. Therefore, this decision taken by the center is expected to give new strength to the social and religious activities of the fort.
