New scheme announced by Revenue Minister Bawankule
Scheme to solve transportation problems in agriculture
(Baliraja Panand Road scheme) Considering the difficulties faced by farmers in the state, the government has announced a new scheme called 'Chief Minister Baliraja Panand Roads'. Farmers face significant transportation issues in bringing their produce to the market. The main objective of this scheme is to provide good quality roads up to the farms to overcome these obstacles. This decision was made in a meeting held at Sahyadri Guest House under the chairmanship of Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule.
It was stated in the meeting that a committee will be established under the chairmanship of the legislators in each constituency. The sub-divisional officer will be the member secretary of this committee, while the tehsildar, group development officer, land records officer, taluka agriculture officer, and forest department officers will participate. In the first six months, the roads will be demarcated, and thereafter, a map of the village will be prepared and published before the villagers.
Funds for this scheme will be made available from MNREGA and 13 other schemes. Additionally, a special account for the use of CSR funds will be created by the district collectors. A proposal will be submitted to assign VR numbers to roads longer than one kilometer. The government will focus on constructing quality roads using good quality soil and gravel.
Revenue Minister Bawankule clarified that if farmers can easily transport their produce to the market, it will bring about a real change in their lives. Therefore, steps will be taken for the implementation of the scheme from September 17 to October 2, and all legislators have been urged to remain vigilant in this regard.
