Due to the heavy rains in Beed district, many rivers and streams have overflowed. As a result, the flood situation in rural areas has become critical. In the jurisdiction of Sirsa Police Station, in the Sabla Kawadgaon area, around two in the morning, a jeep got stuck in the water flow and was swept away, causing a great commotion.
According to the information provided by the locals, there were six people in the jeep. Three of them managed to get out of the vehicle in time and saved their lives. They were swept away by the water current and climbed onto a babul tree, from where they started shouting for help. Subsequently, the villagers immediately informed the police.
Upon receiving information about the incident, the Assistant Superintendent of Police of Ambajogai arrived at the scene. Under their guidance, the police team started a rescue operation using ropes. The relief work continued until dawn, but heavy rain, darkness, and the strong water current created obstacles. Efforts to search for the remaining people were ongoing.
Meanwhile, some houses have been damaged due to water entering the area, and the fields have become waterlogged, causing concern among farmers. Citizens are constantly monitoring the levels of rivers and streams.
