A major change has been made in the state school curriculum after opposition to Hindi imposition. The curriculum now includes special emphasis on Marathi, English, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography, Political Science, Economics, Art Education, Vocational Education, Physical Education, and Fundamental Value Education.
The policy of learning a third language from third to tenth grade has been removed from the new curriculum. The state government has prepared a draft of the new school education curriculum for third to tenth grade. Hindi has been excluded as a third language from this curriculum.
The curriculum can be viewed at www.maa.ac.in, and citizens can provide feedback on it from July 28. The curriculum prepared by the State Council of Educational Research and Training has been made available on the website.
