The monsoon has intensified across Maharashtra, with heavy rainfall expected in many parts of the state today, according to the latest forecast by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Several districts may experience heavy to very heavy showers, raising concerns over potential disruptions and damage.
In recent days, torrential rains have already caused damage to agricultural lands in various regions. Farmers in the affected areas have reported crop losses due to waterlogging and storm-related incidents.
The IMD has further predicted that this active phase of the monsoon will continue over the next 3 to 4 days. States along the western coast, including Kerala, Karnataka, coastal Maharashtra, and Goa, are likely to witness intense rainfall during this period.
In response to the forecast, local administrations have issued advisories urging citizens to remain alert and adhere to safety instructions provided by government agencies. Emergency services and disaster response teams have been put on standby to manage any untoward incidents.
Authorities have advised residents in low-lying areas to take necessary precautions and avoid venturing out unless essential. Travelers are also being warned to check weather conditions before planning their journeys.
