The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall across several parts of Maharashtra starting tomorrow, as pre-monsoon showers begin to intensify across the state.
Over the past few days, pre-monsoon rains have lashed various regions, offering some relief from the scorching heat. However, the rising humidity and erratic weather have left citizens grappling with discomfort. Now, with an official forecast in place, the state is preparing for a more prolonged wet spell.
According to the IMD, Mumbai, its suburbs, and the Konkan region are expected to witness very heavy rainfall in the coming days. The forecast indicates heavy to very heavy rainfall in Konkan and parts of Madhya Maharashtra on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
Pre-monsoon activity is likely to continue until May 31 across Mumbai, Konkan, and other parts of Maharashtra. Specifically, from May 21 to May 31, heavy to very heavy showers are predicted for Mumbai and the entire Konkan belt.
In light of the forecast, the administration has urged citizens to remain alert and take necessary precautions to ensure safety during this period of intense rainfall.
