Maharashtra continues to witness intense pre-monsoon showers, with several parts of the state receiving heavy rainfall over the past few days. The persistent downpour has already caused damage to agricultural fields in some areas and more rain is forecasted for today.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for the Konkan region and the Ghat areas of Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Satara, and Kolhapur, warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall throughout the day. Mumbai, in particular, has been experiencing heavy showers since the early hours of the morning, with more rainfall expected throughout the day.

In addition to the orange alert, a yellow alert has been issued for Konkan, Madhya Maharashtra, and Marathwada, due to the possibility of rain accompanied by lightning. The IMD has advised residents to remain cautious and take all necessary precautions, especially in areas prone to flooding and landslides.

Citizens are urged to stay updated with the latest weather advisories and avoid unnecessary travel, particularly in the Ghat and coastal regions where rainfall is likely to intensify.
