The state of Maharashtra continues to experience heavy rainfall, with more showers expected over the coming days. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), significant downpours have already impacted various regions, leading to damage in agricultural sectors.

In its latest bulletin, the IMD has forecast heavy to very heavy rains across multiple parts of the state over the next five days. A weather alert has been issued not only for Maharashtra but also for three other west coast states, warning of intense rainfall activity for the next 6–7 days.

Alerts Across Districts

Today, a yellow alert has been declared for the districts of Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Mumbai, and Thane, indicating the likelihood of moderate to heavy rain. Meanwhile, the Konkan region is under an orange alert, suggesting the possibility of very heavy rainfall in isolated areas.

Appeal to Citizens

Authorities have urged residents in the affected areas to remain vigilant and adhere to the safety guidelines issued by local government bodies. The district administrations have appealed to citizens to stay updated with official advisories and avoid travel to flood-prone areas unless necessary.

Farmers and those in low-lying areas are particularly advised to take precautionary measures in view of the potential for crop damage and waterlogging.
