Union Home Minister Amit Shah is currently on a visit to Pune, where he is scheduled to inaugurate several key development projects. In light of his visit, significant changes have been made to the city’s traffic arrangements to ensure smooth movement and heightened security.
The Pune City Transport Department has announced temporary restrictions on the movement of heavy vehicles along major routes. Specifically, the entry of goods carriers, dumpers, cement mixers, trucks, other heavy and bulky vehicles, as well as slow-moving vehicles, has been banned today between 12 noon and 5 PM. The restricted route includes stretches from Mantarwadi Phata to Khadi Machine Chowk and Katraj Chowk.
Additionally, authorities have made arrangements to temporarily convert the one-way road from Odha to Circuit House Chowk to IB Chowk into a two-way route, as per operational requirements. To manage the changes and prevent traffic disruptions, additional traffic police personnel will be deployed along the affected routes.
