In a closely contested battle, the Nationalist Congress Party emerged victorious. In the Induri-Varale Zilla Parishad group, while the lead and lag continued until the final round, Pallavi Dabhade of the Nationalist Congress Party clinched the victory. In the Khadkale-Karla group, Asha Waikar, wife of Pune Zilla Parishad's Agriculture Chairman Baburao Waikar, was defeated, and Dipali Hulawale of the Nationalist Congress Party won.

Overall, the BJP's 25-year rule over the Pune Zilla Parishad and Maval Panchayat Samiti was overturned this time. Ajit Pawar group's MLA Sunil Shelke implemented an effective strategy, securing victory for NCP candidates in all 15 out of 15 seats. This successful campaign was made possible by addressing local issues, reviewing development works, planning at the booth level, selecting the right candidates, and direct communication with voters. In political circles, Sunil Shelke is being recognized as the 'architect' of this victory.

As soon as the results were announced, a wave of enthusiasm swept through the NCP workers. Celebrations were held with the bursting of firecrackers and the sound of drums, and victory processions were taken out in many places. The victorious candidates thanked the voters and responded by saying, 'This victory belongs to the people.'

This result is likely to impact the upcoming local self-government and assembly elections. The overwhelming mandate received by the Nationalist Congress Party in Maval taluka has also been significant in the state's politics.
