There has been heavy rain in Mumbai since morning. Water has entered many low-lying areas. A sudden technical fault occurred in the monorail between Chembur and Bhakti Park. After this, the train stopped and the AC in the compartments shut down. As this monorail is completely stopped, the ventilation inside ceased, causing confusion. Passengers immediately contacted the emergency number of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation for assistance.
Upon receiving information about the incident, the fire brigade rushed to the scene. Passengers were urged to stay away from emergency doors to begin rescue operations, and then the process of evacuating passengers began. Additionally, it is reported that the municipal corporation's medical team has been dispatched to the scene. A crane has also arrived at the scene for assistance, and passengers are being evacuated from the monorail. Fire brigade personnel have reached to assist, and all passengers are being safely evacuated. It is initially reported that the monorail stopped due to a technical fault.
Against this backdrop, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has tweeted. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that due to some technical reason, a monorail is stuck between Chembur and Bhakti Park. All systems like MMRDA, fire brigade, and municipal corporation have reached the spot. The highest priority is being given to the safety of all passengers.
Along with this, he further said that no one should worry or panic. All passengers will be safely evacuated. I request everyone to remain calm. I am in contact with the MMRDA Commissioner, Municipal Commissioner, Police, and all systems. An inquiry will also be conducted into why this incident occurred, said Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
