After the horrific accident at the metro construction site in Mulund on Saturday, a meeting of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) under the chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde will be held today at 2 PM. During the construction of Metro Line 4 in Mulund, after a parapet section collapsed resulting in one death and three injuries, the government has initiated immediate action. Deputy Chief Minister Shinde has ordered the suspension of Executive Engineer Satyajit Salve, and a fine of 1 crore has been imposed on Louis Berger Company and 5 crores on Milan Infra Company. MMRDA has announced assistance of 15 lakhs to the family of the deceased, and a safety audit of the entire corridor has been conducted.
