Mulund Metro Slab: Mulund shaken! Major action against those responsible after metro accident, serious charges filed against 5 including project director

The horrific accident that occurred on Saturday in the Mulund area of northeastern Mumbai has shocked everyone. A part of the under-construction metro railway pillar suddenly collapsed onto two vehicles, injuring four people. Unfortunately, one of the injured has died, and a case of culpable homicide has been filed against five responsible individuals in this matter.

On Saturday at 12:15 PM, a part of the parapet on the route near Pier number P196 near Mulund Fire Station under Metro Line 4 (Wadala-Kasarvadavali) collapsed from a height. This part fell directly on an auto rickshaw and a car, causing the vehicles to be crushed. Immediate rescue operations began at the accident site, and four injured were admitted to a nearby hospital. The injured include Ramdhan Yadav, Rajkumar Yadav, Mahendra Yadav, and Deepa Ruhiya. Among them, Ramdhan Yadav died during treatment.

It has come to light that two different companies are involved in this metro project, and the police are investigating the responsibilities of both companies. A thorough investigation is underway to determine whether the exact cause of the accident was a technical fault or human error. According to official sources, evidence is emerging that safety regulations were not followed during construction.

Meanwhile, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has announced assistance of 15 lakh rupees to the relatives of the deceased Ramdhan Yadav. This accident has once again highlighted the safety issues in construction projects, and an immediate inquiry has been ordered by the concerned department. More details are expected to emerge soon.
