In a significant anti-terror operation, the Mumbai Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) conducted a major raid in Borivali village near Padgha in Bhiwandi taluka during the early hours of Monday. The operation began around 3 a.m., with a joint team of approximately 200 personnel from Thane Rural and Raigad Rural police participating in the coordinated search.

The entire village was placed under surveillance as security forces carried out intensive checks, though officials have not yet disclosed the number of arrests or details about those detained.

Borivali village has previously come under the ATS radar. The village was notably linked to Saqib Nachan, a former convicted terrorist, and has been associated with individuals involved in ISIS-related activities. In prior operations, Saqib Nachan, his son, and 16 others were arrested on terrorism charges. Additionally, four people from the village were apprehended in connection with a separate Pune terror case.

The latest operation has raised concerns about continuing extremist activity in the region. Authorities have yet to issue an official statement regarding the objective or outcome of the current raid, but sources indicate that it may be linked to ongoing investigations into suspected terrorist networks.
