The journey from Mumbai to Nagpur is now going to be extremely easy and fast. To connect South Mumbai with the Samruddhi Highway, the state government is preparing to build an 18-kilometer long eight-lane road connecting the Thane Coastal Road to the Mumbai-Vadodara Highway. This project will allow vehicles coming from Nagpur to reach South Mumbai directly via the Samruddhi Highway. It is expected that traffic congestion will be reduced, and there will be significant savings in fuel and time.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has conceptualized this ambitious project. This road will connect the Mumbai-Vadodara Expressway, Thane Coastal Road, Dahanu Coastal Road, and Samruddhi Highway. The project is currently in its initial stages and testing is underway. The exact route of the road will be announced soon, and the responsibility for construction is likely to be taken by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC). More details will emerge once the final plan is prepared.

Due to the MMRDC's Samruddhi Highway, the journey from Nagpur to Amne and Bhiwandi takes only seven hours. However, the journey from Amne to South Mumbai, Worli, Bandra, Andheri, and Dahisar becomes a major obstacle for drivers. To solve this, this new eight-lane road is being constructed in Thane. In the future, vehicles will have non-stop access to South Mumbai via the Sea Bridge and Coastal Road. Vehicles coming from the Mumbai-Vadodara Highway will be able to easily reach Samruddhi.

The initial cost of this project is approximately 2000 crore rupees. Once the road is completed, vehicles coming from Nagpur will be able to reach Nariman Point directly via the Bhayander-Versova Sea Bridge and the Bandra-Worli Sea Link without stopping on the internal roads of Thane, Bhiwandi, or Mumbai. This project will be revolutionary for Mumbai's traffic.
