(Sandeep Deshpande) Voting took place yesterday for the 29 municipal corporations in Maharashtra. Voting started at 7:30 in the morning and voters were able to exercise their right to vote until 5:30 in the evening. Voting took place yesterday in these 29 municipal corporations: Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai, Pune, Pimpri–Chinchwad, Solapur, Kolhapur, Ichalkaranji, Sangli–Miraj–Kupwad, Nashik, Malegaon, Ahilyanagar, Jalgaon, Dhule, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Nanded–Waghala, Parbhani, Jalna, Latur, Amravati, Akola, Nagpur, Chandrapur, Ulhasnagar, Kalyan–Dombivli, Bhiwandi–Nizampur, Mira–Bhayandar, Vasai–Virar, Panvel.

The counting of votes will take place today, starting at 10 AM. A strong police presence has been deployed to maintain law and order. It will be clear today who will dominate the municipalities, and it will be important to see who will win.
