(Laxman Hake) OBC leader Laxman Hake has written a letter to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. In the letter, Laxman Hake said, 'We sincerely welcome today's decision of the Supreme Court regarding OBC reservation in local self-government bodies. The 50% reservation limit clarified by the court and the implementation of OBC reservation within that framework — this is a very important step for constitutional values and social justice. The state government should announce a clear, practical, and immediately implementable plan for OBC reservation in accordance with the court's guidelines, which will ensure the necessary transparency and clarity in the upcoming election process.'
'There is a need to formulate a justice policy that respects the listed reservation of SC and ST brothers while ensuring OBC representation, updated assessment of socio-educational backwardness, and distribution of seats in local bodies. In this process, it is expected that a positive, constitutionally compliant, and peaceful dialogue will take place among various sections of the OBC community, experts, and the administration to reach a decision.'
Along with this, he further said, 'OBC reservation is not an issue against any community group but a matter of representation, equality, and social justice. Therefore, we humbly appeal to all community groups to maintain peace, unity, and mutual respect. The Chief Minister, sir, the OBCs of Maharashtra have great hope from you, so you should convene a broad meeting of OBC representatives before the winter session and ensure that it is discussed in the session,' said Laxman Hake.
