A tragic road accident occurred in the Birdawadi area near Vasuliphata Road in Chakan, Pune district, where a speeding truck collided with a two-wheeler, resulting in the death of two young men.
The incident took place when the truck, while overtaking, rammed into the two-wheeler, dragging the victims for nearly 15 to 20 feet, according to eyewitness accounts. The impact was so severe that both riders died on the spot.
The horrific nature of the crash has triggered outrage among local residents, who have expressed concerns over speeding and lack of proper traffic enforcement in the area.
The Chakan Police quickly reached the scene, conducted a panchnama, and initiated the process of filing a case against the truck driver, who is expected to be booked under relevant sections of the Motor Vehicles Act and Indian Penal Code.
