A fierce clash occurred between BJP and Congress workers in the Congress Bhavan area of Pune, with BJP workers pelting stones at the Congress Bhavan, injuring a female police officer and a Congress worker. This incident flared up due to the controversial statement by Congress state president Harshvardhan Sapkal, who, during a press conference in Buldhana, compared Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Tipu Sultan, equating Tipu as a valiant hero, which provoked the BJP.

A case has been registered against Sapkal based on the complaint of BJP city president Dheeraj Ghate, and BJP members protested in front of the Congress Bhavan for one and a half to two hours, demanding an apology. However, the protest took a violent turn and stone-pelting started from both sides, injuring three journalists along with the police and damaging some vehicles.

The Congress accused the BJP of aggression and demanded the arrest of Ghate, while the BJP retaliated by claiming that Congress members started the stone-pelting. Although BJP workers withdrew after the incident, the Congress strongly condemned the actions of the BJP.

The injured have been admitted to a nearby hospital, and the police have expressed determination to take action against the culprits after examining the CCTV footage. A large police presence has been deployed in the area, and political tension has increased.
