Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) President Raj Thackeray has announced a protest march in Mumbai on July 5 to oppose the alleged imposition of the Hindi language in Maharashtra. Addressing a press conference, Thackeray strongly criticized what he called an increasing trend of sidelining regional languages and cultures in favor of Hindi.

In preparation for the event, the MNS has reached out to several prominent cultural groups across the city, including Ganesh Mandals, Navratri Utsav Mandals, and Dahi Handi squads, appealing for their active participation in the protest.

Sources within the party indicated that meetings with representatives of these mandals will be held this evening across various city divisions. In Worli, a key meeting is scheduled to be held under the leadership of senior MNS leader Sandeep Deshpande. These outreach efforts aim to mobilize grassroots cultural organizations to lend their voice to the party’s stand on language rights and cultural identity.

The proposed march is expected to be a significant show of strength for the MNS, reviving its long-standing platform of regional pride and linguistic rights. With widespread participation from Mumbai’s deeply rooted festival and cultural communities, the rally could add momentum to the party’s narrative ahead of upcoming political seasons.
