The final stretch of Maharashtra’s ambitious Samruddhi Mahamarg project is set to open for traffic tomorrow, June 5 (Thursday). Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will officially inaugurate the 76-kilometer Igatpuri–Aamne section, marking the completion of the 701-kilometer Mumbai–Nagpur Expressway.

This final leg includes a state-of-the-art six-lane double tunnel, 35 meters wide, which will soon be accessible to motorists. Although construction of the Igatpuri–Aamne segment was completed in April, the official opening was delayed until the upcoming ceremony.

With this final phase now complete, the entire 701-km Samruddhi Mahamarg will be operational, promising to significantly improve travel time and efficiency between Maharashtra's key cities. Until now, 625 kilometers of the highway had already been opened to the public.

The full launch of the expressway is expected to drastically reduce travel time between Mumbai and Nagpur. What was once a grueling 16-hour journey will now take just around 8 hours, bringing major relief to commuters and boosting economic connectivity across the state.
